OH $#%^!!!

I gave up cussing/swearing/using bad words for Lent. I am 125% positive that it’s going to be tough. However, I knew it was necessary when a co-worker/friend of mine said, “So, you’re REALLY making this hard for yourself this year, aren’t you?!?” Another indicator-- I was leaving Ash Wednesday MASS, some guy cut me off and I started to say, “You Jack---!!” My mother would probably agree that it's a good move as well...

Just to warn you, this basically means I can no longer have candid conversations with my best friend - or ANY of my friends for that matter - nor can I have anymore incidences with the treadmill (see below). It doesn’t help that I’m always running late and occasionally clumsy….which usually leads to a variety of 4 letter words or a “bleepity bleep bleep bleep” sort of combination. I might have to get creative in how I verbalize my frustrations now!!

I’m still trying to decide “punishment” for saying bad words… Suggestions are welcome, but keep in mind I don’t ever have cash on me (to put money into a jar) nor do I want to put a rubber band on my wrist and snap it when I slip up. I’m still trying to come up with something!

Wish me luck! It’s going to be a long, long Lenten Season…

Val---don't you think the Lord enjoys a good color commentator? Also, if you are thinking it, can't he/she 'hear' it anyway? I vote for lettin' em fly. My Dad always says that cursing is a talent---not everyone can pull it off. If you've got the gift--go with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
