It's a nice day for a White Wedding

I have been asked to be a bridesmaid my good friend’s wedding this coming November. I LOVE Sarah, and I love her fiancé Nate, and so I’m obviously honored and thrilled to be asked to be a part of their special day.

Last night Sarah’s MOH, Angie (who is another good friend of mine) & I went to try on bridesmaid dresses. I was dizzy from the giddiness of it all.

First, my friend is getting MARRIED. That in and of itself is exciting—I couldn’t be happier for her. We’ve known each other for almost 10 years, and have been through some GREAT times, and some times where we asked ourselves “what the hell were we thinking?!” Through it all, we’ve had fun, we’ve laughed, and we’ve become good friends. It’s been amazing to watch her find her mate, and begin this part of her life with him.

Second, I love PLANNING things. We all know that along with Weddings comes Showers and Bachelorette parties (yes, I said parties—what?!) I couldn’t be more eager to start helping with planning those. Vegas? Chicago? Podunk, Nebraska?? Ahhh…the possibilities are endless!!

Third, I love Weddings—every.single.cheesy. part of them. Even weddings of people I don’t know or am not involved in. Yes, I love sitting through a Catholic “Wow-how-long-is-this-going-to-take?” wedding, the outside “oh-crap-that-bee-is-getting-awfully-close-to-me” wedding, and the “make-this-quick-so-we-can-go-party” wedding. I just can’t help myself when the smell of LOVE and an open bar is in the air!!

I would say that overall, last night's excursion went rather well. We tried on some lovely dresses, had lots of fun, and to my surprise…

I even found MY wedding dress!!

(What lucky guy wouldn't want to snag THIS lovely lady?!)

Congrats again to Sarah & Nate! Let the fun begin!!

That dress is fantastic! It reminds me of when the theater dept at the high school where I worked was looking for "bad prom/bridesmaid dresses." If we had 'em in our basement or closet, they wanted 'em. So I donated something I wore in 1986, which actually made it on stage. I told my husband, "that's my dress." He said, "please don't tell me things like that."

Yep, that dress is a keeper!
